Program Overview
The Database Management and Data Security degree provides students with a solid foundation in database design, management, and data analysis. Data security measures, data back-up and recovery will be emphasized. Employment opportunities include entry-level in Database Administration and Support, SQL Database Programming, Data Analysis, and data protection and recovery support.

Upon completion of the program, graduates will be able to:

As part of this program, students will enhance their career development through participation in NSCC’s Cooperative Education/Internship.
This degree is intended to prepare a student upon completion for entry-level employment in Database Administration and Support, SQL Database Programming, Data Analysis, and data protection and recovery support.
After completing the degree, students are prepared to take the “Oracle Database 12c: Install and Admin (1Z0-062)” Oracle certification exam.
Graduates of the Database Management and Security program are prepared for entry-level positions such as:
- Database Administration
- Database design and development
- Structured Query Language (SQL) proficiency
- Data security and privacy
- Data analysis
NSCC has established transfer agreements with several four-year institutions, facilitating a smooth transition for graduates pursuing bachelor's degrees in related fields.
