Program Overview
The Dietary Management Certificate program equips students with the skills and knowledge necessary to oversee the dietary and nutritional needs of individuals in a variety of healthcare settings (e.g. hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities). This one-year, fully approved program combines academic coursework with practical field experience, ensuring students gain both theoretical understanding and hands-on expertise in food service management. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates meet the eligibility requirements to sit for the nationally recognized Certified Dietary Manager, Certified Food Protection Professional credentialing exam.

Students will study topics such as food safety, nutrition, menu planning, and personnel
management, while also participating in supervised fieldwork. This blend of classroom
learning and real-world application prepares graduates to excel in food service operations.

Credits earned in this certificate program can be applied toward the Nutritional Science and Diet Technology Associate of Science Degree at NSCC, offering a pathway for continued professional growth and advancement in the field.

Approved by the Association of Nutrition & Foodservice Professionals (ANFP)
NSCC’s Dietary Manager Certificate is approved by the Association of Nutrition & Foodservice Professionals (ANFP). Upon successful completion of the program, students are eligible to apply to take the CDM, CFPP Credentialing Exam. Successfully writing the exam will enable students to become a Certified Dietary Manager (CDM), Certified Food Protection Professional (CFPP) as well as an ANFP member.
