North Shore Community College is pleased to announce that the 2026 Commencement ceremonies will take place on the Lynn campus on Friday, May 22, 2026.

10 AM Ceremony: Liberal Studies and STEM & Business Graduates
Includes Frederick Douglass Collegiate Academy graduates from NSCC Programs

2 PM Ceremony: Health Professions and Human Services & Emergency Response Graduates

Venue Information

  • The ceremony will take place under a tent, but weather may impact your experience of this event. The college reserves the right to cancel if weather is severe or threatens the safety of participants.

  • The ceremony will take place outdoors on uneven, grassy areas. Please wear footwear in which you feel comfortable navigating these kinds of surfaces.

  • Restrooms are available on the 1st floor of the McGee Building for guests.


Information for Spring 2026 Graduates

Spring 2026 graduates should apply to graduate by April 24, 2026 through MyNorthShore. Applications must be submitted by this date to appear in the Commencement Booklet.

Information for August 2025 and December 2025 Graduates

Are you ready to receive your credential? August 2025 and December 2025 graduates are also invited to participate in the ceremony with Spring semester graduates, as long as they haven't participated previously for the same credential. August and December graduates do not need to apply to graduate a second time. Additional details will be emailed to NSCC email addresses in March with instructions on how to participate.

Student Speaker Information

Graduating students are encouraged to apply to be the Student Commencement Speaker for North Shore Community College's 60th commencement ceremony on May 22, 2026 at North Shore Community College Lynn Campus Green. We will be seeking multiple speakers. Apply to be the Student Speaker by March 22, 2026! See speech guidelines.

Eligibility Requirements:

  1. A graduate of August 2025, December 2025, or confirmed potential May or June 2026 graduate by the Registrar
  2. 3.0 Cumulative GPA or better at close of Fall 2025
  3. Select times of availability to audition at the Danvers or Lynn campus for selection committee if needed
  4. Must consent to publicity

The selection committee will meet shortly after the deadline to review applications.

Student Soloist Information

Students are encouraged to nominate themselves to be the Student Commencement Soloist for North Shore Community College's 60th commencement ceremony on Friday, May 22, 2026 at North Shore Community College Lynn Campus Green. Apply to be the Student Soloist by March 22, 2026!

*We are seeking multiple soloists for the day of the event.

Eligibility Requirements:

  1. Open to any currently enrolled student
  2. Upload a video of your audition, if unable to upload, please email commencement@northshore.edu
  3. Must consent to publicity

Information and Guidelines :

  • Be prepared to sing the National Anthem, a cappella (without instrumental accompaniment)
  • A committee will observe auditions and collectively select the soloist
  • The selected soloist will be required to rehearse with a staff member prior to ceremony

Cap and Gown Information

Caps and gowns will be available soon in the campus bookstores.

Ticketing Information

Commencement participants will receive emailed information about ticketing to their NSCC email acount in mid-March.

Graduates may reserve:

  • 1 Graduate ticket
  • 4 Guest tickets (Outdoor Tent seating)

Seating and parking is limited. Additional tickets are unlikely to become available. The event will be live-streamed for guests who are unable to attend in person.
