What are the Education Transfer Compacts?

The Early Childhood Education (ECE) Transfer Compact and the Elementary Education (EE) Transfer Compact are statewide agreements that help students move from a community college to a Massachusetts state university to complete a bachelor’s degree. They are designed for students pursuing teacher licensure and ensure that your coursework aligns with four-year programs, making your transfer smoother and more efficient.

Who is eligible?

Students enrolled in Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education transfer programs at NSCC may be eligible for the compact. To take full advantage of the agreement, students typically need to complete their associate degree and meet program requirements, such as maintaining a strong GPA and following the recommended course pathway for transfer into a licensure program.

Next steps

Start by meeting with an academic advisor to confirm your eligibility and map out your transfer plan. Then, explore participating universities and programs, stay on track with your coursework, and prepare your transfer application. Planning early ensures you meet requirements and deadlines for a smooth transition to your bachelor’s degree.
