How do I log into Blackboard?
Log into myNorthshore. You will see the Blackboard icon on the top-right of the page. Click on the icon and you will be taken to the Blackboard site. You don’t have to login again.

You may want to enroll and take Online Learning 101. This is a free NSCC online course that can teach you about the expectations of learning online and how to succeed in this environment. My course has an orientation. How do I find my course orientation in Blackboard?

Instructors generally make their Blackboard course sites available on the first day of the semester. If you do not see the course after the first day, contact your instructor. Some face-to-face classes do not use Blackboard. You are likely having a browser issue. Check that your browser is Blackboard compatible or switch to a different browser. You can also test your browser by using this Browser Checker. Or, log into Blackboard and use the Browser Test on the My Home page. If certain items do not pass the test, you may want to refer to this resource. I am trying to submit an assignment for the second time, but cannot submit it. What should I do?

My instructor cannot open the document I submitted. What should I do?
Most distance learning courses accept files in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and PDF formats. If you saved your document in a different format (e.g., Pages, Keynote), it is likely your instructor cannot open such a file. You will need to resave your file to an appropriate format.
Links in my course are not working. How can I access that content?
The latest browsers block content for security measures. Make sure your browser is not blocking the content. You will notice icons (such as shields or Lego like icons) in your browser’s URL bar. Click on the icon to allow content. If it is a broken link, you may want to report it to your instructor.
