In addition to North Shore Community College’s (NSCC) 60th Annual Commencement, the Adult Learning Center (ALC) held a graduation ceremony for its students and several programs held pinning ceremonies to further celebrate the accomplishments of their graduates.

ALC Graduation

The ALC provides free college and career readiness programs for adult learners, helping them achieve their high school equivalency, further their educations, and enter new careers. This May, the ALC was proud to graduate 55 individuals.

Pinning Ceremonies

Pinning ceremonies mark the transition from student to professional, and ready to enter their chosen field. 

Occupational Therapy Assistant

The College’s new occupational therapy assistant graduates will work with individuals of all ages to support independence, health, and engagement in meaningful activities at home, school, work, and within the community.

Medical Assisting

Graduates from the medical assisting certificate program have developed technical clinical skills, critical thinking, and communication competence,  preparing them to sit for their national certification exam. 

Funeral Service

Funeral service graduates are prepared to enter careers as licensed funeral directors and embalmers, serving our community by supporting families during times of loss.

Respiratory Care

New graduates from the respiratory care program are ready to sit for their national exams, after which they can start their new careers as respiratory therapists, specializing in the assessment and treatment of patients with respiratory disorders.

Nurse Education

Equipped with hands-on skills, a comprehensive education in nursing theory and clinical practice, this year’s nurse education program graduates are ready to take the NCLEX-RN exam to become registered nurses (RNs).

Nutritional Science and Diet Technology

Graduates from the nutritional science and diet technology program have gained a foundational knowledge in food science, nutrition, and dietetics, with a strong emphasis on food safety, preparation, and management.

Practical Nursing

Now prepared to take the NCLEX-PN exam and become licensed practical nurses (LPNs), practical nursing graduates will soon enter the workforce with technical nursing skills. These graduates will work in a variety of settings, including hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and long-term care facilities.
