JD LaRock and Francesca Purcell for previously serving on the Board, as we have greatly valued their contributions.”
About the Board of Trustees Structure
The NSCC Board of Trustees has 11 members, all of whom are appointed by the Massachusetts Governor. The Board includes one trustee elected by the NSCC Alumni Association as well as a student trustee elected by the student body through Student Government Association. This year’s student trustee, Stacy Duggan, is a member of the health studies program.
Charles Anastos

Charles Anastos began his career as a machinist after completing the machine operator’s training program at NSCC. He worked his way up from senior process engineer to principal engineer of robotics at Osram Sylvania before joining Harmonic Drive as senior manufacturing engineer in 2001. After serving as a production manager and as vice president of operations, he was named vice president of operational excellence in 2022.
As vice president of operational excellence, Anastos champions employee development and Lean manufacturing principles. Additionally, he works with agencies across the Commonwealth to support workforce development.
A strong advocate for workforce development in the region, Anastos serves on the board for the North Shore MassHire Workforce Board, the advisory committee for the Essex North Shore Agricultural and Technical School’s Advanced Manufacturing program, the board of directors for the E-Teams Machine Operator Training Program, and on the Advanced Manufacturing Training Expansion Program (AMTEP) industry advisory committee.
A graduate of Northeastern University, Anastos earned his Master of Science in Administrative Studies from Boston College.
Ron Mastrogiovanni

Founder and CEO of HealthView Services Renato (Ron) Mastrogiovanni, brings more than 30 years of experience in financial services, healthcare cost planning, and information technology to NSCC.
Ron also co-founded FundQuest in 1990, a provider of wealth management solutions for financial institutions, including banks, insurance companies, and brokerage firms. After the acquisition of FundQuest, he started HealthView Services.
During his tenure, Ron has significantly expanded HealthView through the development of innovative retirement planning applications with focus on healthcare costs. HealthView has continually enhanced its product suite, expanded its data offering, and earned patent protections for its cutting-edge solutions.
Ron was appointed by the Governor to serve on the Massachusetts Health Policy Commission (HPC) and he served for approximately 10 years. The HPC is an independent state agency that develops and reviews policies to reduce health care cost growth and improve the quality of patient care.
Ron is a graduate of Boston State College, now University of Massachusetts Boston, and earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Babson College.
“The Board of Trustees extends a very warm welcome to Charlie and Ron,” said Chair of the Board of Trustees, Maria Vega Arias ‘16. “Each brings valued insights and experience, and a strong commitment to the College and the communities we serve. Their perspectives will strengthen the work of the Board as we continue to champion student success and advance the College’s mission.”
