Medical Interpreting
This free, grant-funded course is taught in English, open to all languages, and designed to help you start a rewarding career and break language barriers in healthcare.

- Ends December 15, 2026
- Meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 pm to 9 pm
- Meets online/remotely (computer and reliable internet access required)
Additional Training - will be held in person, on the Danvers campus
- Orientation begins the week prior to the course, on Tuesday, September 29
- Several sessions of support services such as resume writing and interview skills will take place separately from the course, on the Danvers campus
- To be completed with regional healthcare providers, observing certified interpreters in real interactions
- Must be available for 10 hours per week for 2 weeks, for a total of 20 hours
- The final clinical schedule will be announced after the course begins and may take place remotely or in person. Any healthcare facility requirements or technical standards required for clinicals will be communicated to you.
- 18-years-old or older
- Proficiency in English and another language. You will receive a phone call before the course begins to schedule a time to assess language proficiency.
- CORI/SORI, to be coordinated by North Shore as part of the course
- Be available for all course meetings, support services, and job shadowing/clinicals
- Member of underserved or underrepresented community and/or underemployed
- Interest in and committment to becoming employed as a medical interpreter and ability
to work in the US
