Lynn and Danvers, MA (10/06/2026) — North Shore Community College (NSCC) has appointed Dr. Geofrey T. Mills as its new Dean of Science, Technology, Engineering, Math (STEM) and Business. Dr. Mills brings extensive experience as an educator, researcher, and senior academic leader to the College's division.
Dr. Mills holds a Ph.D., M.S., and B.S. in Economics from the University of Illinois. His distinguished career spans roles as professor, dean, vice president for academic affairs, and college president across institutions in the United States and internationally. He has also held prestigious Fulbright appointments and led academic initiatives in Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, and Denmark.
"Dr. Mills brings a rich combination of academic leadership, international perspective, and a deep commitment to student success," said Chris Bednar, Provost at NSCC. "His proven track record in developing workforce-aligned programming and fostering strong employer and community partnerships makes him uniquely qualified to lead our STEM and Business division into its next chapter."

Throughout his career, Dr. Mills has focused on connecting higher education with regional workforce needs, developing programs in areas such as data analytics, cybersecurity management, and technology-enabled learning. His expertise encompasses curriculum development, accreditation, employer partnerships, 2+2 transfer pathways, and career-connected learning.
