Aligned with Governor Healey's goal to register 100,000 apprentices in ten years, six community colleges in Massachusetts are launching apprenticeship degree programs. North Shore Community College (NSCC) will launch its apprenticeship programs in the fall of 2026. 

The Boston Business Journal reports:

Healthcare is a predominant industry for the initiative to incorporate into growing workforce challenges and the [Massachusetts Business Alliance for Education] expects 800-1000 apprentices in healthcare programs alone within the next three years. 

Kristin Driscoll, executive director of workforce development at Mass General Brigham, sees the vision for the number of apprenticeships growing intensely as the partnerships deepen between the schools and hospitals.

“We’re excited to partner with the colleges to navigate through this and map a strategy that leads to increasing the seats for these programs,” Driscoll said.
