Dr. Lavious DanielsDr. Lavious Daniels has been named North Shore Community College’s (NSCC) new Director of Career Services & Experiential Learning. Prior to joining NSCC, Daniels was an assistant professor at Zayed University, Dubai, UAE.

In his new role, Daniels will oversee a broad spectrum of career services that include but are not limited to facilitating experiential learning, internship opportunities, career development and post-graduation employment and transfer.

Daniels' expertise lies in career and college student development. He has held both academic and administrative positions throughout his career in higher education. As a first-generation student, he understands the complexities that come along with being the “first”. As such, he is committed to equity and providing opportunities for all students to succeed.

These words define my work whether inside or outside of the classroom. As the Director of Career Services and Experiential Learning, I, along with an amazing student-centered staff, am excited about the possibility of collaborating with our campus and community partners as we strive to address the career and professional development needs of our students.”

Daniels is currently a member of the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators, the National Association of Colleges and Employers, the International Association of Student Affairs and Services, and Kappa Alpha Psi, Fraternity Inc.

He holds an Ed.D. in Higher Education and Policy Studies from the University of Central Florida, an M.Ed. in College Student Affairs Administration from The University of Georgia, a B.S. in Family and Community Services from East Carolina University, and an A.A. in Pre-Liberal Arts from Pitt Community College.
