The fourth annual Massachusetts Manufacturing Mash-Up, a day packed with networking and forward-thinking presentations, brought together local innovators at Gillette Stadium on September 25.
The MA Manufacturing Mash-Up was all about helping manufacturers succeed through collaboration and sharing knowledge, uncovering best practices and finding solutions to industry challenges.
The Mash-Up featured keynote speakers addressing the topic of U.S. Manufacturing at a Crossroads: Building an Industrial Base for the 21st Century along with networking and a day-long roster of panel discussions.
Jennifer James Price, Assistant VP for Strategic Employer Relations at North Shore Community College (NSCC), and formerly the undersecretary of workforce development for the Massachusetts Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development, served as the moderator on one of the panels that discussed “Finding Your Next Hire Across the Talent Pipeline.” Attendees heard from and asked questions of manufacturers who have successfully bridged the gap between their hiring needs and local talent pools and have explored strategies for building strong collaborations with education and workforce training programs. Speakers were Annemarie Abdo, Vice President of Human Resources, Catania Oils, Phil McGee Sr., Principal Manufacturing Engineer, Straumann and Mark Joyce Sr., Principal Engineer, NyproMold, Inc.
"I was thrilled to facilitate a panel of manufacturing leaders at the Mash-Up to discuss new ways to find talent for the industry. Community Colleges have to be a central partner in meeting talent needs for manufacturers in MA,” said Price.
