NSCC’s Respiratory Care Program Achieves Highest Pass Rate in MA

North Shore Community College’s Respiratory Care Program recently received outstanding news from COARC (Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care) concerning their graduates’ passing rate on a national credentialing examination.

In the most recent outcomes report posted, NSCC’s Respiratory Care Program graduates achieved the highest pass rates in Massachusetts on the RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist – the advanced credential) national licensure exam.  The national average for success on the RRT exam is 80% but NSCC scored above that average at 97%, the highest in the Commonwealth.

According to the National Board of Respiratory Care, the RRT exam is considered the "standard of excellence" for respiratory care professionals.

“Achieving this remarkable benchmark is a result of the Respiratory Care program faculty's extraordinary dedication to facilitating exceptional student-centered learning in the clinical setting, in the laboratory environment, and in the classroom, along with having totally committed students who want to excel in the field,” said Jane Schweizer, Respiratory Care Program Director.
