2019 Champions in Education Recognition Breakfast

Join the North Shore Community College Foundation for the presentation of the third annual NSCC Champions Award, honoring exceptional leaders dedicated to excellence in higher education and career pathways for residents of the North Shore and beyond. The breakfast will be held Thursday, October 3, 7:30 – 9 am at the Boston Marriott Peabody

NSCC Champions Award honorees set the highest bar for transformative philanthropy, community impact, and advocacy for higher education in our region. The 2019 Champions honorees exemplify these achievements.

• Rosalin Acosta, Secretary of Labor and Workforce Development in MA, actively partners with NSCC and community colleges across the state to develop and advance viable employment opportunities for local residents, aligning higher education with workforce training and workforce needs that in turn strengthen the state's economy.
• The Bertolon Family (Donna (NSCC Class of 1972) and Henry Bertolon and their children) is investing the largest philanthropic gift in the history of the NSCC Foundation - $1.765M - to establish The Bertolon Simulation Health Care Center of Excellence at NSCC, with new state-of-the-art simulation labs and advanced health care technology to advance career training and employment opportunities for NSCC students, and the quality of health care on the North Shore.
• The Solimine Family (David Sr., David Jr., and Joel), longstanding NSCC scholarship donors and NSCC Foundation Board members, are a lead advisor and partner on a new NSCC Funeral Services degree program launching this fall, which will educate and train the next generation of funeral service providers for the region.

Net proceeds from this event benefit North Shore Community College programs and initiatives that enhance student success and educational access at North Shore Community College.
