The Opportunity
The North Shore Community College (NSCC) Board of Trustees seeks confidential nominations and expressions of interest for the College’s fifth President. This is a distinctive time for higher education as well as a unique moment in the world. The emergence of COVID-19 and its aftermath, calls for a brand of leadership unlike what we envisioned before. We seek a leader capable and prepared to meet unprecedented challenges in these times of uncertainty, disruption, and unpredictability. The ideal candidate will be a highly collaborative, visionary and transformational leader with high emotional intelligence. Within the new everyday context, the successful candidate will demonstrate the ability and desire to lead the College to reimagine and advance a collaboratively created innovative institutional and programmatic student success agenda. More than ever before, the trustees desire to attract a candidate who will have robust ideas about how to tackle the demographically related enrollment decline that is projected to continue into the next decade. The successful candidate will also embrace working in a diverse environment and possess the ability to effectively address and take the necessary steps to ensure that NSCC’s policies, practices, programs, and services provide solutions to systemic race and equity-related issues.
