Coursedog is LIVE; Three Online Trainings this Week!

We are pleased to announce that the new room reservation and event management system, “Coursedog” is now live as of today, Monday, October 30.   This new system provides the ability to better coordinate and facilitate room, meeting and event requests.   This system negates the need for BSR requests to support an event, additionally, you will no longer have to create a separate Media request to support a meeting or event.

You can access Coursedog by logging into the My Northshore portal, search on any of these terms: course, event, room or reservation; and the tile for Coursedog will display. A very detailed memo was circulated last Wednesday that offers an in-depth overview.

If you would like to participate in hands on training, three sessions will be offered this week, and we encourage you to attend if interested. These sessions will provide an overview of the new system, and demonstrate how to make a request and answer questions. They will be held: Tuesday, October 31, 11am – Noon, Coursedog Training; Wednesday, November 1, 1-2 p.m., Coursedog Training Two Link; and Thursday, November 2, 9–10 a.m., Coursedog Training Three.

Call for submissions for peer-reviewed book on equity-minded systemic change in higher education!

NSCC is a proud member of the Racial Equity and Justice Institute (REJI). The REJI is seeking article submissions for a second peer-reviewed handbook; the focus of this publication is on equity-minded systemic change practices in higher education. Drawing on the work of Susan Elrod, Adrianna Kezar and Ángel de Jesus González (2023) we “define [equity-minded] systemic change as one that affects multiple courses, departments, programs, divisions, colleges (or beyond) and results in changes to policies, procedures, norms, cultures, and/or structures (i.e. organizational, curricular, fiscal)” (p. 5).

All members at NSCC are invited to submit their work. Please indicate your interest in submitting a chapter for consideration ASAP to Nikki Pelonia, npelonia@northshore.edu. Intent for submission is due by October 31st; and articles due January 2nd, 2024!  For more information see: REJI Handbook Call for Article Submission.

Chief Diversity & Equity Officer
