In keeping with North Shore Community College’s shared respect for human dignity and social justice values, we ask that all members of the community take it upon themselves to bring forward concerns about discrimination or harassment, including sexual misconduct or sexual violence.

As a matter of College policy, all responsible employees, or officials with authority, must promptly report to the Title IX Coordinator, Affirmative Action and Compliance Officer if they learn about potential instances of sexual misconduct, including stalking and dating violence. The College encourages students who learn of such conduct to report to the Title IX Coordinator. Reports can be made by:

  • Emailing the Title IX and Equal Opportunity team at titleix@northshore.edu.
  • Using our Online Reporting Form, which allows individuals to identify themselves in their report or to report anonymously.
  • Contacting NSCC’s Title IX Coordinator, Affirmative Action and Compliance Officer, Nick Royal, directly by email.

All reports will be reviewed by a member of the Title IX and Equal Opportunity team. NSCC strictly prohibits retaliation against any individual who makes a report pursuant to the Policy on Affirmative Action, Equal Opportunity, and Diversity or who cooperates in the investigation of such reports.

Members of our community who have been impacted by sexual misconduct or sexual violence can contact the Title IX Coordinator for resources and to discuss supportive measures without having to go through a formalized investigation process.

Allegations involving Title IX Sexual Harassment shall be reported by all “Responsible Employees” to the Title IX Coordinator or official designee as soon as the employee becomes aware of it.  A Responsible Employee includes any College employee: who has the authority to take action to redress Title IX Sexual Harassment; who has been given the duty of reporting Title IX Sexual Harassment to the Title IX Coordinator or other appropriate school designee; or who a student could reasonably believe has this authority or duty.  Responsible employees at NSCC shall include, but are not limited to:

  • College Trustees
  • Administrators
  • Department Chairs
  • Program Coordinators
  • Faculty
  • Campus Police
  • Club/Activity Advisors
  • Coaches
  • Managers
  • Supervisors

In addition to the above, if you believe you have been subjected to sexual harassment, you may file a formal complaint with the governmental agencies set forth below.  Filing a complaint under the PAA does not prohibit you from filing a complaint with these agencies.  Each of the Agencies has a short time period for filing a claim (EEOC - 300 Days; MCAD 300 Days).  More agencies can be found in the PAA.
