Kathie and Tom Gerecke’s incredible dedication to NSCC touched the lives of students for three decades, with Tom in the Advising and Counseling Center and Kathie in the ESL Department and ultimately a Professor Emerita. They even supported students beyond the classroom in the form of an annual scholarship award they created in honor of their parents.
Since retiring from NSCC, Kathie and Tom turned their annual scholarship for NSCC students into a lasting legacy through a planned gift to The North Shore Community College Foundation. “We’re delighted to know our bequest will provide scholarships long after we’re gone and will forever honor our parents,” shared Kathie and Tom.
You, too, can join the Lighthouse Society. It’s easy! Simply name The North Shore Community College Foundation, Inc. as a beneficiary of your estate plan. Gifts of all amounts are welcome. No minimum gift is required to participate. Options include; will, trust, retirement plan, insurance policy, and customized deferred gift.
Lighthouse Society member benefits include commemorative naming at Danvers and Lynn campuses, invitation to annual Lighthouse Society event, commemorative pin, and more. Donors who commit a deferred gift by March 31, 2023 will receive additional recognition as Lighthouse Society Founder’s Circle Members and will be celebrated at NSCC 56th Commencement in 2023.
