In May, the NSCC Alumni Association awarded 13 scholarships totaling $14,250 – the most awarded by a single person/organization this year through the NSCC Foundation! Scholarship recipients were all high-achieving students beginning or continuing their education at NSCC or NSCC graduates moving on to four-year institutions.
Gold and Silver Alumni Scholarships for continuing NSCC students, ranging from $750 - $1,000 per scholarship, were awarded to: Nephthali Calixte, Ashley Cormican, Nancy Dinh, Jenna Dunton, Alycia Masse, and Caitlin Shaughnessy.
Two $1,000 Beacon Scholarships for incoming students, that are renewable for up to three years, were awarded to incoming student Yaquelin Alvarenga (first year recipient) and current student Diana Garcia Peguero (second year recipient).
The Alumni Association also provides $1,500 scholarships to graduating students and alumni who are continuing their education at a four-year school. Awards are based on merit, academic scholarship and individual achievements. Recipients may be graduates of the current year's graduating class or any prior year. This year’s recipients were: Jessica Cook, Aiman Masalawala, Shannon McMahon, and Emiliano Moreno Manzano.
