Grow a sustainable career in the Green Industry

NSCC’s Horticulture associate degree program prepares students to work in the green industry. Graduates are in demand by businesses such as nurseries, greenhouses and garden centers; landscape designers; parks and golf courses; herb and specialty plant production; organic food producers; and, horticultural equipment supplies and sales. Additionally, knowledge and skills gained with an NSCC degree prepare students for various industry-based certifications. Students will also learn more about issues of sustainability and how these issues affect our communities, the places we live, work and play. NSCC’s Horticulture degree offers a mix of general education and hands-on courses such as:

  • Landscape Installation & Maintenance
  • Plants for the New England Landscape
  • Plant and Soil Science
  • Fundamental of Plant Health
  • Urban Tree Care
  • Environmental Policy
  • Landscape Design
  • Introduction to Sustainable Living
  • Organic and Sustainable Food Production
