Take the first steps toward a career in the life sciences field with a certificate in Biotechnology

Gain theoretical and practical hands-on lab training needed for entry-level positions in the biotechnology industry with NSCC’s Biotechnology Certificate, a 9-month program designed to prepare new students and retrain professionals for entry into the field of biotechnology.

 

As a student in NSCC’s Biotechnology Certificate program, you will learn to:

  • Perform required lab techniques including cell cultures, purification and analysis of proteins and nucleic acids, and gene manipulation by using and maintaining the adequate lab equipment.
  • Explain, generate and follow standard operation protocols and follow Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Design and generate biotechnology lab experiment protocols using references, protocols and literature

 

Students who wish to take their education to the next level are strongly encouraged to apply to credits earned in this certificate towards NSCC’s Biotechnology Associate Degree program which offers pathways to four-year colleges and universities.
