On Campus Lactation Rooms

NSCC has two lactation rooms for the community.  The lactation rooms are located at LW213 (Lynn Campus) and MS122 (Danvers Campus).  Each lactation room has a chair, a table, and a phone.  Individuals will need a code to enter the room and it can be locked from the inside while it is in use.

To obtain the code, students should inquire at Accessibility Services and employees should inqure at Human Resources.

Rights for Pregnant and Parenting Students

Requests for reasonable accommodation should be directed to Accessibility Services. There the staff will discuss the pregnant or parenting individual's needs and may ask for documentation that supports the requested accommodations.

NSCC's Policy on Affirmative Action, Equal Opportunity, and Diversity, as well as Title IX, specifically prohibits discrimination against individuals based on pregnancy, childbirth, false pregnancy, termination of pregnancy, or recovery from any of these conditions. Under Title IX, it is illegal for schools to exclude a pregnant student from participating in any of an educational program.

If you believe you've experienced discrimination or harassment based on pregnancy, childbirth, false pregnancy, termination of pregnancy, or recovery from any of these conditions, you can file a report here.  For more information, you can reach out to Nick Royal, NSCC's Title IX Coordinator, Affirmative Action and Compliance Officer, at nroyal@northshore.edu.
