The Career Pathways Grant, funded by the Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) has engaged Massachusetts community college partners to promote and expand professional development opportunities and higher education certificate and degree attainment for the early childhood education and out-of-school time (ECE/OST) workforce.

North Shore Community College offers enhanced supports to the early childhood, out of school time, and family child care communities under the Career Pathways Grant. 

Program Overview
North Shore Community College’s (NSCC) Career Pathways program is designed to expand the Early Childhood Education workforce and support those interested in joining the field by providing the necessary classes and support to attain professional qualifications and certification from the Department of Early Education and Care (EEC).
 
Getting Started
The Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) is encouraging students to enroll in and complete a Certificate in Early Childhood Development at NSCC.
 
Applicants need to complete the steps below:

Apply to NSCC  

Complete the FAFSA application.

If you are not eligible to complete the FAFSA and are an approved “High School Completer” under the Massachusetts Tuition Equity Law, you can complete the Massachusetts Application for State Financial Aid (MASFA) and still attend for free. https://madhestudentxprod.regenteducation.net/signin

The North Shore Community College Career Pathways grant will offer the following supports and services for educators:

  • Courses and support to increase in EEC certification
  • Opportunities for enhanced leadership in the field of ECE and OST 
  • Advising and courses to build toward Foundational certificate or Associate degree.
