Massachusetts residents without a bachelor’s degree may qualify for free community college, that’s no tuition and no fees! With open enrollment for Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters, you can start when it works for you.

1) Explore Our Programs and Choose Your Campus

Browse our wide range of associate degree and certificate programs in Danvers, Lynn, and through Online Learning. You’ll find areas like Business, Health, STEM, Liberal Arts, Online Learning, and more.

2) Complete Your Application

Submit your application for open-enrollment programs year-round. Some health and technical programs have additional requirements and deadlines, check program-specific pages for details. Applying is free for all new students.

Submit Required Documents
Upload your high school transcript, diploma, or GED/HiSET. Transfer students should submit previous college transcripts. Selective programs may require essays, test scores, or attendance at an information session. Check your program’s webpage for details.

3) Apply for Financial Aid

Submit the FAFSA to qualify for financial aid and Massachusetts’ Free Community College program. Complete the Massachusetts Residency Form if you are seeking in-state tuition rates. Explore other forms of financial aid offered by NSCC to help you fund your education, including scholarships and work-study programs.

4) Take Any Required Placement Tests

Complete any required placement tests or determine proficiency in math and communications. We offer both in-person and online services designed to be flexible and accessible. If you have a documented disability and need testing accommodations, you must contact Accessibility Services well in advance of your testing.
