Summer Session Frequently Asked Questions

1) How can I sign up for a summer class?

If you do not intend to enroll in a degree program or apply for financial aid, follow the steps below:

  1. Locate the summer class you want
  2. Submit a Mail-In/Fax-In Registration Form*:
    • Email: summer@northshore.edu
    • Fax: (978) 762-4015
    • Mail: North Shore Community College, Office of the Registrar, 1 Ferncroft Road, Danvers, MA 01923-0840
    • Walk-in: Lynn Success Center or Danvers Enrollment Center between 8:00am and 6:00pm, Tuesday-Wednesday and 8:00am and 5:00pm, Monday, Thursday-Friday.

*Students must include form of payment and proof of pre-requisites (if applicable) at the time of submission. If the course you want has pre-requisites, you must include unofficial/official college transcripts and/or placement test scores.

2) Do all summer students have to meet course prerequisites?

Yes. Students must meet all course prerequisites, or have tested to achieve the communications and mathematics prerequisites, before registering. For visiting students, please provide us unofficial college transcripts and/or placement test scores to prove course prerequisites. 3) When is payment due?

Summer 2017 bill due date is 5:00pm on Tuesday, May 1, 2018.
Students must act on one of the available payment options prior to 5:00pm on May 1, 2018 to prevent deregistration. NSCC cannot guarantee readmission into classes, sections or professional program in which you were originally enrolled.

Payment will be required at the time of registration after 5:00pm on May 1, 2018.

4) Can I use Financial Aid to pay for my summer classes?

Yes but you must apply and be accepted into an academic program at NSCC to receive Financial Aid. For more information on how to apply for financial aid, visit the Student Financial Services homepage.

5) When can I drop my summer course and receive 100% refund?

Please visit the Refund Policies page to review the refund policy and summer 2018 refund dates.

6) If I take a course at NSCC, will the course transfer to my college/university?

This is solely up to the College that you are transferring to from NSCC. You should contact the other College directly to determine how you can have your questions answered. Most colleges will want the course code and course description (found in the Course Search) of the class you are taking at NSCC.

7) I registered for a class. Is there anything else that I have to do?

Students are highly encouraged to create a Pipeline Account.

8) How do I buy my textbooks for summer classes?

Students can download their course schedule and textbook requirements in their Pipeline Account or visit the Registrar Department in person. More information on the bookstore can be found on the NSCC Bookstore webpage.

9) Will I need a student parking sticker?

Vehicles parking in NSCC parking areas must display an NSCC parking sticker. Stickers are free and available from all Campus Police Officers. Students park only in the white lined spaces. The yellow lined spaces are for staff & faculty. Please bring your course schedule with you to receive the sticker.
