2020 Scholarships for incoming NSCC students

Awards range from $750 – $3,000
Scholarships are available through the NSCC Foundation if you are an incoming student to North Shore Community College for the 2020-2021 academic year. Scholarship recipients are selected through a competitive application process, in consideration of academic and non-academic factors as well as demonstrated financial need. Each scholarship has its own application, eligibility requirements, and submission deadlines.

What is an incoming student?

  • First-time students to North Shore Community College
  • Students who have participated in the following NSCC programs: Early College, Gateway to College, Dual Enrollment, Upward Board, Talent Search, and the Adult Learning Center.

Complete these two steps to apply for scholarships.

STEP 1: Apply for a 2020 Incoming Student Scholarship

Applicants will be considered for multiple scholarship opportunities by completing the general application form. Learn more about the available opportunities.

STEP 2: Apply for additional scholarships.

Applicants are encouraged to apply for additional scholarships for which they are eligible by completing one or more scholarship applications below. Each scholarship has its own application deadline.

 

Louise Michaud Memorial Scholarship

For incoming NSCC students enrolling in the NSCC Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) program. Priority will be given to non-traditional students (age 35+). Students enrolling as full-time, part-time or accelerated OTA program students are eligible to apply.

Award Amount $1,000 scholarship award ($500 per semester for two semesters)

Jeffrey Thompson Memorial Scholarship

For NSCC students who have a permanent physical disability that is documented with NSCC Accessibility Services; are enrolled in a NSCC degree or certificate program; and have financial need.

Deadline to Apply: June 12, 2020

Award Amount
In-state tuition and fees for up to 12 credits for the fall, spring or summer semesters, plus a one-time additional amount of up to $1,000 to be used for assistive technology, a laptop, or books. The award is renewable for subsequent semesters, provided that the student recipient maintains the eligibility requirements and a cumulative minimum GPA of 2.8.

NSCC Alumni Association Beacon Scholarship
For incoming students who meet the following eligibility criteria: first-time college student; financial need; a high school graduate, high school equivalency program graduate, or graduating high school senior; a commitment to enroll in at least nine credits per semester for the Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 semesters.

 Award Amount
$1,000 scholarship to be awarded annually for up to three years (six semesters / $3,000 total).
 

Christine Tufts Beveridge Scholarship
For high school seniors graduating from Salem High School with a minimum cumulative high school GPA of 2.8 and a commitment to enroll in at least nine credits for the Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 semesters.

$2,028 scholarship award ($1,014 per semester for two semesters)

Believe in Lynn Scholarship
For high school seniors graduating from Lynn public high schools with a commitment to enroll in a minimum of six credits per semester for the Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 semesters.

$1,000 scholarship award ($500 per semester for two semesters)

Daniel Callahan Memorial Scholarship
For students graduating from North Shore or Cape Ann vocational/technical high schools who will be continuing their education at NSCC in one of the following programs: Computer Networking certificate program, Computer Networking associate degree program, Computer Programming associate degree program, Computer Applications associate degree program, and the Computer Aided Design certificate program. Eligibility includes a commitment to enroll in a minimum of six credits per semester for the Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 semesters.

$1,000 scholarship award ($500 per semester for two semesters)

 

Danvers Rotary Scholarship
For high school seniors who are residents of Danvers, MA and graduating from Danvers High School or Essex Technical High School. Eligibility requirements also include a minimum 3.0 cumulative high school GPA and a commitment to enroll in a minimum of nine credits per semester for the Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 semesters.

$1,000 scholarship award ($500 per semester for two semesters)

 

Early College Achievement Scholarships
For high school seniors graduating from Lynn public high schools who have successfully completed at least one NSCC Early College Program course. Available scholarships include: the Irving Adler Memorial Scholarship ($1,000 annually for up to three years), the Verizon Foundation STEM Scholarship ($1,000), the Henderson Arthur Stern Memorial Scholarship ($1,000), and the Early College Achiever Scholarship ($750). A minimum cumulative high school GPA of 2.8 and a commitment to enroll in at least nine credits for the Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 semesters is required. Michaud Family Scholarship
For an incoming NSCC student who is a single parent. Eligibility criteria includes a minimum high school GPA of 2.8 and enrollment in a minimum of 9 credits per semester.

Bob and Mary Murphy Scholarship
For a graduating student or a past graduate of the North Shore Community College Adult Learning Center who is enrolling in one of the following programs at North Shore Community College: an associate degree program; a noncredit, credit for prior learning program; Aesthetics and Skin Care Certificate Program; CompTIA Certificate Program; or PC & Networking Support Certificate Program. Eligibility also includes a commitment to enroll in a minimum of six credits per semester for the Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 semesters.

NSCC Foundation General Scholarship
For incoming students with a minimum GPA of 2.5 and demonstrated financial need 

Award Amount
Awards of $750 pending availability and awarded at the discretion of the scholarship review committee.
