COVID Emergency Grants

NSCC students who have experienced financial hardship due to the impact of COVID-19 where the change from a physical classroom experience to an online/remote setting could be eligible to participate under federal law Section 484 of Title IV (HEA of 1965) in an emergency financial aid grant.  The college has received funding from four programs:  The Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act (CARES), the Governor's Emergency Education Relief Fund (GEER), Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund – Minority Service Institutions (HEERF-MSI) and the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSAA).

Here to Help Emergency Funding

Emergency funding can assist current students who are in good standing with a grant when an emergency expense arises. This application will also be used to connect you with campus resources. If you are a financial aid applicant, please apply for CARES funding first. Questions can be directed to heretohelp@northshore.edu. Please fill out the Here to Help application for assistance with obtaining WiFi, a Chromebook or a laptop.

Internet Assistance 

Are you an NSCC student who is concerned about being able to access your courses remotley? The Emergency Broadband Benefit is an FCC program to help families and households struggling to afford internet service during the COVID-19 pandemic. This new benefit will connect eligible households to jobs, critical healthcare services, virtual classrooms, and so much more.
