Are You Ready? Submit a Video Promo by April 1, 2022
Promote YOUR class or program to the NSCC community and beyond! Here’s your chance! Promote your course, certificate, degree or program. Tell your story in one minute. Videos will play as part of a video loop in the gym during the Transforming the Future Festival on May 13, and be posted to the NSCC Social Media and/or potentially on the NSCC Website.
Video can be no longer than 60 seconds
Format: Either horizontal or vertical
Can be a phone selfie or use your favorite video editing software
If doing this as a selfie, focus on head & shoulders. Not full body unless you are demonstrating something.
Record in a quiet setting with little to no background noise.
Be sure there is plenty of light. Ring lights are great for selfies. If outdoors, be in the shade. Be sure your background isn’t brighter than you are.
Keep the camera steady. Use a tripod or other device to keep steady.

The Experiences of Women in the Soviet Union During WWII

Climate Change Photo Contest
To celebrate Earth Day, NSCC is hosting a Photo Contest on Climate Change Awareness.
Please submit your original photo/artwork https://tinyurl.com/2p8fz9sp that exhibits an individual's impact on the environment or anything associated with mitigation, preparedness, or adaptation to its effects.
The photo must be taken by the participant and include a caption describing how their photo portrays their impact on the environment. Only one photo submission per person.
Gift card prizes will be awarded based on the number of social media LIKES.

Celebrate Women's History Month!
Women’s History Month had its origins as a national celebration in 1981 when Congress passed Pub. L. 97-28 which authorized and requested the President to proclaim the week beginning March 7, 1982 as “Women’s History Week.” Throughout the next five years, Congress continued to pass joint resolutions designating a week in March as “Women’s History Week.” In 1987 after being petitioned by the National Women’s History Project, Congress passed Pub. L. 100-9 which designated the month of March 1987 as “Women’s History Month.” Between 1988 and 1994, Congress passed additional resolutions requesting and authorizing the President to proclaim March of each year as Women’s History Month. Since 1995, presidents have issued a series of annual proclamations designating the month of March as “Women’s History Month.” These proclamations celebrate the contributions women have made to the United States and recognize the specific achievements women have made over the course of American history in a variety of fields.

In celebration of Women's History Month we invite you to join our local State Representative, Sally Kerans, in a discussion about the Progress of Women in Politics and Society. The event will take place in Danvers DS106B on Wednesday, March 23rd at 11am. Read more about Representative Kerans and register for the event online. Due to COVID precautions, all event attendees must check-in at the event. Walk-ins are welcome, but you can make the check-in process easier by registering in advance.

Women's History Month: Who Inspires You?
March is Women’s History Month, a time for us to honor and celebrate women's contributions to history, culture and society.
We invite you to help celebrate by sharing a brief paragraph or two about a woman who inspires you. Doesn't matter who she is - all that matters is you are inspired by her.
Please include a photo of yourself OR a photo of the woman who inspires you OR a photo of the two of you together. We will be featuring submissions on social media and all submissions will be added to a Women's History Month video that will be made available to the NSCC community at the end of March. NSCC Foundation $cholarships – 2022 Cycle
This year’s Foundation Scholarship cycle will open to students on March 1st. Eligible students (those with 6 earned credits and a GPA of 2.5) will be notified at the beginning of March that the system is open and ready to receive applications. New applicants will be notified once they are accepted and have an NSCC ID and email address.
As in the past, we will need staff reviewers, and training in the new system will be offered before the review cycle starts. More information will follow in the coming weeks, and in the meantime, if you have any questions, please contact Kathy Faulkner at email@example.com

Scholarship reviewing is one of the most rewarding experiences at NSCC! It doesn't take up a lot of time and you feel great after doing it. Last year we gave out 345 scholarships totaling $310,000 to over 320 students.

CTLI Coffee and Conversations Series
Over the spring semester, the CTLI will be hosting a series of informational sessions
on a variety of teaching, learning, and assessment topics. The Coffee and Conversations
sessions will be held virtually twice a month on Fridays from 9:30am to 10:30am. Please
join us with your favorite cup of coffee or tea and we will bring the topics to hopefully
spur plenty of conversations.
Our next session will take place on Friday, April 1st and the topic will be “Spotlighting Student Success Resources” (rescheduled from February 4th due to a snow storm). Our guests for this session will be Donna Davis, Susan Graham and Sara Hilinski and they will provide a brief presentation/overview of student services around counseling, accessibility services, and tutoring as well as tips for working with students. There will also be plenty of time for questions and discussion.

Spring Institutional Professional Day
NSCC's Spring Institutional Professional Day for faculty and staff will be held virtually
