Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Department
We provide a comprehensive, experiential education in the field of addiction. Our program is a Massachusetts Bureau of Substance Abuse Services (BSAS) Approved Education Provider for individuals pursuing licensure, and many students elect to continue their education at 4-year institutions following completion of the program.
Students gain knowledge of the process that leads to substance use disorders, the associated costs to society, and how to view addiction through a bio-psychosocial lens. Most importantly, study emphasizes reflection, the therapeutic relationship, evidence-based practice, the role of community-based organizations, and how best to obtain employment in the field of counseling at large.
Our two-year program includes field experience that students find invaluable in developing their counseling skills, preparing for the workforce, and becoming future leaders in Human Services.
