Student Life Office Clerk/Ambassador : Student Life

Campus: Lynn

Duties: Provide office assistance in the Student Life office in Lynn. Duties include handling confidential information, ID machine, greeting, giving information, answering questions, copying, scanning, filing, computer work, answering telephone calls, assisting with projects and events.

Qualifications: 1. Good communication skills to disseminate information. 2. The ability to perform required office tasks in a professional manner. 3. Pleasant communication skills 4. Responsible and respectful. 5. Report on time for scheduled work hours

STEM Peer Mentor: STEM Starter Academy

Campus: Lynn

Duties: Expectations: Peer mentors are expected to serve as exemplary role models for new students. They are expected to abide by all College policies and local/state laws, and to maintain good academic standing. Peer mentors are also expected to work collaboratively, not only with students in the program, but also with fellow peer mentors and the faculty and staff involved in the program. Peer Mentors must represent the College and themselves in an appropriate manner in all communication, and must exhibit a high level of maturity and professionalism. Responsibilities: The specific duties of the peer mentors will vary, but the responsibilities of all mentors include the following: Outreach to new & fall accepted STEM students via email, phone, or in person Assist STEM students during New Student Orientations Represent NSCC at Admissions and Recruitment events Serve as a mentor to key gateway STEM courses Serve as a role model and resource to the incoming students, and help them create a connection to fellow incoming students and current NSCC students/faculty Work with fellow mentors and program faculty to plan and facilitate events, record student attendance, engage students in reflection, and encourage students to participate in all program activities Attend all required orientation and training meetings, and complete all required paperwork Document your mentoring activities (e.g., time worked and students mentored/tutored) on a weekly basis

Qualifications: Be in good academic standing with a cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher Have been enrolled in a STEM program at the institution for at least one year Be able to enroll this fall (September 3rd - tentative start date) Be able to commit 5-15 hours a week (flexible) Possess strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills Demonstrate a keen ability for working one-one and with groups of students Be highly motivated, comfortable serving as an ambassador for NSCC, and appreciative of diversity Be a positive role model for students Have a general understanding of the barriers first year STEM students face in their transition into college.

Proficient in use of computer, Pipeline, Word, Excel.

Duties: Helps students with using ESL Lab, accessing curriculum, online resources, and using Sony Soloist. Cleans, and maintains lab, helps ESL Chair with clerical tasks such as filing, copying, and other tasks as assigned

Qualifications: Requires knowledge of ESL program, Sony Soloist, able to troubleshoot basic computer problems, has good organizations abilities, and works well with other students.

Duties: Signing clients in and out of the gym, monitoring the day to day aspects of the gym. Ensure that equipment is clean and safe as well as some office and clerical work.

Qualifications: Excellent customer service skills, ability to multi-task, willingness to learn. Ability to work with little or no supervision. Ability to encourage students to participate in tournaments and activities. Promote positive sportsmanship behavior. Knowledge of gym rules, a must. Flexible with schedule.
