Educational Assistant Mentor/Tutor: Building Bridges through Music, Inc

Campus: Off-Campus

Duties: Duties include but are not limited to mentoring students and assisting Lead teachers with homework help, especially in the areas of reading, and grade appropriate word recognition; math help. Using creative means to implement technology and music; engineering projects. Lastly, participate and engage children and youth in creative play and games/physical movement and sports related activities.

Qualifications: Ability to work independently as well as part of the team of teachers; have experience working with children and or youth via, camp settings, and/or group settings. Have a love of or have music educational experience such as playing an instruments or knowing how to read music, whereas music is our catalyst for leaning and implementing high quality educational enrichment programs. Fluency in Spanish, and Haitian Creole is desirable, but not required. Experience working with young males high desirable.

Duties: Provide office assistance in the Danvers SSAC office including: greeting visitors, answering student questions, answering phone, making appointments, copying, filing, helping students add or drop classes on Pipeline as instructed, and other general duties as needed. Additionally, find on-line, free access videos and websites that assist students with stress-relief, time management, and other helpful topics to list on our Counseling Resources web page.

Qualifications: Must be dependable, good working with the public, able to work with little supervision, able to maintain confidentiality and calm demeanor in occasional stressful situations, have strong communications skills and good computer skills, including strong knowledge of Pipeline. Previous office experience preferred. Availability between 1130am-130pm is a plus.

Duties: This position entails working at the Library's Access Services Desk circulating materials to students, faculty and staff at the College. Student may answer telephones, perform data entry, assist with clerical tasks, and shelve or retrieve materials from the Library's collection. Preferred hours: Tuesday afternoons, Wednesdays and Fridays

Qualifications: Attention to detail is extremely important, previous experience in a customer service position is preferred

REAL Intern: The REAL Program

Campus: Off-Campus

Duties: The REAL Program interns work as tutors, mentors, role models and leaders to help elementary school age students read, improve school work and build community in a supportive setting (much of the time is spent outdoors). As a REAL intern, you will help students learn to love to read and love to learn through fun activities, games, art, enrichment opportunities, visits to college campuses, book stores, museums and the wider community. You will provide one-on-one or small group tutoring and mentoring, monitor attendance and support positive behavior. As young leaders from North Shore Community College you are uniquely able to help students succeed. REAL interns may also: 1. Share their commitment to service and helping children by leading programs that teach students how to be active citizens in their communities and make a difference. 2. Engage community members and corporate partners in physical service projects, including collecting and distributing children?s books, building little free libraries, painting murals, planting gardens, and creating learning spaces.
