Information Session and Orientation
The next Information Session for the Women in Transition Program will be on Tuesday, July 29th from 10:30 - 12:30. Drop in to room DB365 to find out more about WIT and to sign up for fall classes. Spaces are filling up so come on by!

Orientation for the W.I.T. Class of 2014 will be held in DB304 in late August, 2014. Dates to be determined. There are still several spots available so if you have not yet signed up for the Women in Transition Program, please contact the Program Coordinator, Dr. Figgins-Hill, either by phone or email, as soon as possible to get the process started. Jump start your life and become part of this wonderful group of women determined to begin their college experience in a nurturing and supportive environment.
Please know that no matter what your career goals are, W.I.T. is here to get you started. The Liberal Arts courses we offer in this program are transferable to almost every Program of Study here at NSCC so start here and you can go anywhere!
About the Program
The Women In Transition (W.I.T.) Program meets three days each week, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9:30am - 1:30pm. Each semester is 15 weeks long. Fall semester is September to mid-December and Spring semester is mid-January to early-May.
The curriculum is designed to meet the needs to women who are interested in coming to college, but may be undecided about their ultimate goal and who can benefit from having extra built-in supports to assist them in obtaining their degree or certificate.

College Success Seminar (3)
Career and Life Planning(1)*
Assertiveness Training (1)*
Computer Technology (1)*
*Note: These three PER courses are bundled together (5 weeks each) for a total of 3 open elective credits.
SPRING SEMESTER: (Earn 9 Credits)
English Composition 2 (3)
Introduction to Psychology (3)
Mainstream Course (of your choosing) (3)
The Women In Transition Program is designed to provide many built-in supports, including but not limited to:
- Two-day Orientation in late August
- Attending Classes with all WIT students, inclusively
- Weekly Support Group Meeting
- WIT Club for Alums and current students
