The Tutoring Centers

Where students become scholars

What are the tutoring centers?

The Tutoring Centers are places on both campuses where NSCC students can go to improve their course work and study skills with the support of highly skilled peer and professional tutors. Currently enrolled students can visit our free, walk-in centers where individual tutoring is offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Students may also schedule individual appointments with a tutor in advance. Please visit the My Courses tab in Pipeline for more information.

Who should use the centers?

Whether you are one of the strongest students in class or find yourself challenged with certain subjects, you will benefit from the services the Tutoring Center provides.

  • Stuck on a math problem? We can help!
  • Need help getting started on a paper? Yes, we do that too!
  • Want to brush up on your study or computer skills? This is the place to be!
  • Referred by an instructor for help with specific skills? Check!
  • Need someone to do your work for you? Gotcha! Sorry ...that's not what we do here!

What should I bring?

To help our tutors provide you with the highest level of assistance and to make the most use of your time with a tutor, you should bring assignments, syllabi, old tests/quizzes, notebooks and texts. You should also come with a particular problem, task, or goal for each session.
