Summer Session 2009What's New for Summer?
Registration InformationRegistration is ongoing from March 2 - May 20. For late-starting classes students may register up until the class begins. If you have taken any class at NSCC since the Winter/Spring 2004, you may web-register using Campus Pipeline. If you have not activated your Campus Pipeline account, you may do so by going to www.northshore.edu, clicking on the Campus Pipeline logo, and following the instructions to "Setup Your Account Here." Late Registration: All registrations received after May 13 (after July 2 for Summer Session 2) will be subject to a late fee of $10 per credit (late-starting courses are excluded). Be sure that you have met all course prerequisites (or have tested to achieve the communications and mathematics prerequisites) before you register. See the Summer Academic Calendar for cancellation, withdrawal and other dates. Payment InformationThese are our Summer Semester Tuition & Fees. Students must pay in full at the time of registration, unless they qualify for a Payment Option. Your classes will be dropped, if you do not make arrangements as outlined above. If this occurs, NSCC cannot guarantee readmission into the classes, sections or professional program in which you were originally enrolled. For further information, please contact Student Financial Services. Course Prerequisites and Placement TestingIn order to enroll in any course at NSCC, students must demonstrate that they have completed prerequisites. Students who have satisfied a course prerequisite by taking a course or have tested elsewhere must submit proof (scores or transcripts) to Enrollment before they will be eligible to enroll in these courses. Computerized Placement Tests provide another opportunity to establish prerequisites. Students who need to develop their skills in order to be successful in college-level courses may enroll in preparatory Communications and Mathematics classes. Placement into these courses will be determined based on scores from Computerized Placement Tests. Students whose first language is not English and need specific courses may schedule an English as a Second Language assessment to determine levels of proficiency in reading, writing, listening, and speaking and enroll in ESL classes. Non-credit English language classes are available to help students whose English language skills range from Basic to Advanced. |
