Summer of Discovery - Fabulous Field Trips
Over the years, Summer of Discovery students have had the opportunity to cradle a flounder pulled up from the ocean floor while on a marine biology excursion, clocked their throwing speed and met the players while guests of the North Shore Spirit, gaped at gigantic dinosaur skeletons at Harvard’s Natural History Museum, and marveled at a performance of “Beauty and the Beast.”

Field Trips are generously supported by:
Mullen Advertising & Public Relations
The “Accessing the Arts Program,” supported by Mullen Advertising and Public Relations, is a program designed to provide co-curricular opportunities for students to attend cultural performances, view museum exhibits, and experience other enriching special events which abound in the greater Boston area.
Massachusetts Cultural Council
The Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency, supports the PASS Program, which offers exposure to the arts and cultural programs by offsetting costs of cultural field trips. These experiences are often the first of their kind for many children, especially those from economically depressed and rural areas. The money is disbursed through the local community councils, such as those in Lynn and Danvers. |
