North Shore Community College is committed to creating and providing a safe and healthy educational environment for all people who study, work and visit its campuses. Thus NSCC will become smoke-free January 1, 2012. We believe a smoke-free policy is an important investment in our students' health and their promising futures. In addition, a smoke-free campus is more aesthetically pleasing, welcoming and accessible to all students and staff, safer from fires, and environmentally sustainable.
NSCC's smoke-free policy applies to all students, staff, faculty, contractors, vendors and visitors. The policy applies to all of the college's campuses - indoor facilities, campus grounds, walkways and parking lots.
NSCC understands the process of achieving a 100 percent smoke-free environment will take time and patience. The college is committed to encouraging and assisting students and staff who wish to overcome their dependence on tobacco by offering cessation programs and a wide range of supportive systems.
We invite you to use the resources offered here and join us in creating a better place for all to learn, work and thrive.
