Using Your Veteran's Benefits at NSCC
Are you a member of the National Guard, a Veteran, active military personnel, or the dependent of a Veteran? Do you want to find out if you qualify for educational benefits while attending North Shore Community College?
New or Potential Students should:
STEP 1:
Visit the US Department of Veterans Affairs website to find out if you qualify for Educational Benefits. Once you have determined your eligibility complete the Veterans ON-line Application for VA benefits (VONAPP).
STEP 2:
Apply for Admission to the college. You can apply either online or by visiting the Enrollment Center at the Lynn or Danvers campus. To speed up the process please bring a copy of your high school diploma, transcript or G.E.D. scores.
STEP 3:
Meet with NSCC staff to discuss your benefit eligibility, program of study, and the registration process.
Please bring with you the following:
- Copy of your DD214 Member 4 (discharge papers), or
Certificate of Eligibility (if National Guard) or
Tuition Assistance form (If Reserve or Active Duty)
and
- Application for Educational Benefits from VonApp

STEP 4:
Attend an Orientation and register for courses.
Contact the college's Veterans Academic Counselor, Ray Parker, if you have any changes in your course schedule, program major, or change of address during the semester.
Continuing Students
If you wish to continue with your education at NSCC, please contact Ray Parker (rparker@northshore.edu) to discuss your educational plans and confirm that the courses you select maintain your eligibility.
