Prepare for the SAT critical reading and writing test. Develop skills for critical reading of long and short reading passages, sentence completion, and vocabulary building. Discuss strategies, timing, pacing, and guessing. Please bring a short writing sample of at least one paragraph to class. For ALL high school students; those who wish to improve their verbal scores and those who have never taken the test. Textbook required available at the Danvers campus bookstore; also bring a notebook.

For those who plan to take the Communication and Literacy Skills Test (CLST), part of the Massachusetts Tests for Educator Licensure (MTEL). You will review all the sections of the test and take sample tests as well as learn test taking strategies and techniques to reduce test anxiety. This test is required for licensure as a teacher or educational administrator in Massachusetts and is required for students who are transferring to a four-year college with programs leading to teacher licensure.
