If you are getting ready for a career as an entry-level information technology (IT) professional or personal computer (PC) service technician, the CompTIA A+ Certification course is the first step in your preparation. The course will build on your existing user-level knowledge and experience with personal computer software and hardware to present fundamental skills and concepts that you will use on the job. In this course, you will acquire the essential skills and information you will need to install, upgrade, repair, configure, troubleshoot, optimize, and perform preventative maintenance of basic personal computer hardware and operating systems. Classes will not be held on December 24, 29, and 31 due to College shutdown.

Network+ certification candidates possess the knowledge to configure and operate a variety of networking products. This exam covers a wide range of vendor and product neutral networking technologies that can also serve as a prerequisite for vendor-specific IT certifications. A+ certification along with Network+ certification may be used as an elective in the MCSA program. Target Audience: Network Administrators, Network Engineers, and System Administrators. Prerequisites: Exam is targeted for technicians with 18-24 months experience in the IT industry. A familiarity with Windows is required. Candidates must be able to copy files, create folders, use Microsoft Notepad and navigate throughout Windows. A+ certification or equivalent knowledge or CIW certification is recommended, but not required. Classes will not be held on December 29 due to College shutdown.

You need Security+ Certification if your job responsibilities include securing network services, network devices, and network traffic. Take it to prepare for the CompTIA Security+ examination (exam number SYO-101). Build on your knowledge and professional experience with computer hardware, operating systems, and network as you acquire the specific skills required to implement basic security services on any type of computer network.
