Office Support (WP)

Career, Certificate (C1)

The Office Support certificate is a short-term training program specifically designed for students wishing to acquire the software skills needed for rapid entry into the workplace. It is also geared to those who wish to update their previous office skills for re-entry into the job market. Specialized training is provided in computerized keyboarding, word processing, records management, informaiton transcription, and other office software applications needed for today's highly technical office environment.

 Notes
 1 Students who are not computer literate are encouraged to select CPS100.
 2 Individuals with NO previous Keyboarding/Typewriting experience or individuals who type fewer than 35 words per minute should take OFT101 in the first semester. Individuals who type 45 or more words per minute AND have knowledge of MSWord should enroll in OFT201, and upon successful completion can receive 3 credits for OFT102 by Evaluation Credit by Certificate/License through the Center for Alternative Studies and Educational Testing.
 3 A minimum grade of C- is required to graduate from this program and to meet OFT prerequisites.
