Aviation Management (AM)

Career, Degree (AS)
AN OPTION OF AVIATION SCIENCE (AV)

The Aviation Management program at NSCC is designed to provide the student with the general managment skills needed for entry-level positions as supervisors, managers or sales trainees, assistant managers, administrators, or administrative assistants in the field of Aviation. Coursework in aviation sciences, accounting, economics, management, marketing, and other related business areas exposes students to the basic principles and applications of aviation management within the aviation industry.

Job opportunities in the aviation field are available at Major and Regional Airlines, Fixed Base Operators, Aircraft and Aircraft component manufacturers (including GE and Pratt and Whitney), Fractional Operators, Corporate Aviation Flight Departments, to name a few. According to the FAA, the aviation employment outlook for the future shows sustained growth into the next decade. The FAA forecasts an industry-wide 5-6% annual growth anticipated into the foreseeable future
(http://www.faa.gov). Air Freight and package delivery air carriers have shown strong growth and will continue to in the future.

For transfer students, the coursework prepares students to transer to baccalaureate degree institutions with a strong base of aviation science, business, and liberal arts courses needed to pursue a bachelor's degree in Aviation Management or Business Management.
