CompTIA Network+ Certification
The CompTIA Network+ exam is the industry-wide standard for measuring benchmark level networking skills. Certification demonstrates the knowledge and skills needed to configure and operate a variety of networking products.
Certification
Sponsored by the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA), CompTIA Network+ is a non-vendor, non-product specific certification. The 2002 learning objectives include new technologies such as wireless networking and gigabit Ethernet. The scope of networking systems are broadened somewhat placing an increased emphasis on Linux/Unix, Windows 9x, Windows NT, Windows 2000 and including AppleTalk as a network protocol. There is an emphasis on hands-on experience knowledge needed in the areas of network implementation and network support including troubleshooting scenarios.
Target Audience
All interested in working with networks including Network Administrators, Network Engineers, and System Administrators.
Prerequisites
Exam is targeted for technicians with at least 9 months experience in the IT industry. A familiarity with Windows 95/98 is required. Candidates must be able to copy files, create folders, use Microsoft Notepad and navigate throughout Windows. CompTIA A+ certification or equivalent knowledge or CIW certification are recommended but not required.
Training Format
We will provide you with a CompTIA Network+ Courseware Kit including Exam Assessment and Preparation software giving you the study tools you need to pass the test. At NSCC's Institute for Corporate Training and Technology, you will receive quality training from certified professionals in state-of-the art classrooms. Students will receive 35 hours of hands-on training.
