What is an Articulation Agreement?

An Articulation agreement is a contract created through the collaboration of high school and college faculty to identify coursework a high school student may have already completed in high school. The Agreements provide pathways to a seamless transition from high school to college, creating opportunities for high school students to earn college credit. In order to transfer high school credit into NSCC, a high school student should complete an Advanced Credit Application.

NSCC also has articulation agreements with 4 year colleges and universities. Once students are enrolled at NSCC, they can take advantage of articulation agreements and transfer opportunities that are in place with four-year colleges and universities.

What is Accuplacer Assessment?

Accuplacer Assessment is a computerized placement test that determines whether or not a student is ready for college level work. The goal of early Accuplacer is to reduce the need for developmental coursework in math and English at NSCC.

 

Why College visits?

College visits provide an opportunity for high school students to experience a college campus; become familiar with the many departments and services available; and learn about college programs, degrees and certificates.

 

Articulation Agreements

Create a New Articulation Agreement
Requests to create new Articulation Agreements can be made any time throughout the year. Simply complete the Articulation Request cover sheet and submit with the required documents. The high school will be notified as soon as a decision has been made.

Renew an existing Agreement
Once created, the Articulation Agreements are active for two years, at which time Articulation Renewal forms may be requested. If any changes occur to the articulated high school course prior to the two year date, an Articulation Renewal form should be submitted. This would include changes in course title, course number, texts used and curriculum. If changes occur in the college course, the high school will be notified by the Articulation Coordinator.
