Student Health Insurance

Students can now submit the health insurance waiver for the 2016/2017 academic year. Students enrolled in a program and are taking nine or more credits at NSCC are required to have health insurance according to the Massachusetts' Universal Health Insurance law. Students do have the option to waive the health insurance if they have comparable coverage required by the regulation. Starting this Fall 2016, you must submit your health insurance waiver on-line to avoid paying the health insurance fee.

The health insurance waiver MUST be submitted on-line through Arthur J. Gallagher & Co website.

For security reasons, you will need to create a login in order to access the waiver page. You will need the following to complete the process:

  • Health Insurance Card
  • Date of Birth
  • NSCC student ID number. To find your ID:
    • Log into Pipeline
    • Select the School Services tab at the top
    • Select Student Services and Registration link
    • Select Student Account link
    • Select Insurance Waiver
      • Your NSCC student ID number (ex: N00xxxxxx) can be located towards the upper right hand corner of the Insurance Waiver Page on Pipeline)

Once you successfully answer all of the questions, NSCC will be notified and the waiver will be applied to your NSCC account within 24 hours.

For the Mass Health eligible students who select to enroll into the Premium Assistance program, you will go through an additional verification process, and it may take up to 72 hours for the waiver to be confirmed and applied to your NSCC account.

Note: MassHealth Limited, Children’s Medical Security Plan, Health Safety Net or Free care are not considered comparable plans and will not be qualified for a waiver.

Health insurance is available through North Shore Community College.
Students who do not have a comparable health insurance coverage can obtain health insurance through NSCC. We work with Arthur J. Gallagher & Co to provide coverage for our students. You can find more information about the Benefits and Plan for this year on the Arthur J. Gallagher & Co.

If you decide to receive health insurance through NSCC you will need to pay for it in full or authorize us to use your financial aid if you have a credit available to help cover the cost. The coverage for the academic year 2016-2017 starts September 1, 2016 and ends August 31, 2017. If at any time you have to cancel or need coverage during the year, please contact our office for information.

Here are the steps to complete in order to pay for the insurance and/or authorize your aid to cover it.

To Pay for your Health Insurance

  1. Log into your Campus Pipeline account.
  2. Select the Student Services tab
  3. Select the Student Inquiry and Payment Options
  4. Enter Payment Information

To Authorize Your Financial Aid

  1. Log into your Campus Pipeline account
  2. Click on School Services Tab
  3. Click on Financial Aid Tab
  4. Click on Eligibility Link
  5. Select Aid Year
  6. Submit
  7. Under Unsatisfied Requirements Click and Answer the Question Yes

Drop for Non-Payment
Students who register prior to the semester payment due date must pay or waive their health insurance by the payment due date to avoid having their classes dropped for non-payment. Those students who register after the semester due date must pay or waiver their health insurance at the time of registration to avoid having their classes dropped for non-payment.
