Getting Ready for Your Tele- or Audio Course
| 1. |
Note your course orientation date.
All students should attend the course orientation held on NSCC campuses.
At this meeting, you will not only meet the instructor and your classmates,
but you will also review the class procedures, requirements, and expectations.
You can find the orientation
schedule here. |
| |
|
| 2. |
Get your books and materials at the NSCC Bookstore.
You need to pick up your books and materials at the Lynn
or Danvers Bookstore. You can also arrange to have books shipped to
you by calling 978-762-4046. |
| |
|
| 3. |
If you are taking a telecourse, make sure you have access to the videos
you will need.
With an NSCC library card, you can check out a DVD from the front desk of the Lynn or Danvers
Library for the semester, or you can check out DVDs
overnight. You can also rent a set of videotapes for the semester from
ACT by calling 800-745-5480. (The cost for rental is approximately $50.00.)
Audiocourses and Fast-Track Courses: These courses include
a series of DVDs, which are purchased at the Bookstore. Fast
Track Courses are either audiocourses or online courses that
are scheduled in six-week cycles, including Intersession (between semesters)
and Summer Session (mid-May through mid-August). |

|
| 4. |
Activate and learn to use your NSCC Campus Pipeline email account.
Your instructor may contact you only through your NSCC Campus
Pipeline email account, so it's important that you learn how to use it
and that you check it daily.
If you registered for classes on the Web, you've already used Campus Pipeline.
In addition to email and registration, you can also use Campus Pipeline
to get grades, print transcripts and class schedules, check financial aid status,
read campus announcements, and learn more about what's going at NSCC.
