The President's Council on Diversity
Mission
The President's Council on Diversity consists of distinguished leaders having diverse backgrounds and a wide range of professional interests. The Council serves as an important bridge to our constituent communities and provides informed guidance and serves as an ally in the College's quest to diversify its workforce and to address issues of access, recruitment, retention and student success of its diverse student population.
Membership
The President's Council on Diversity is comprised of the President, Vice Presidents, representatives from the Diversity Leadership Council and external stakeholders representing various communities.
Activities
- Engage in dialogue that will promote stronger engagement with underserved communities
- Connect NSCC with local communities that will inform the College about critical issues that may impact enrollment in higher education
- Serve as a vehicle to share NSCC initiatives and discuss partnerships that are designed to create long-term strategies to enhance minority student enrollment and persistence and the College's diverse workforce goals.
- Provide a forum for the community to share its needs and discuss how the College might engage in partnerships (i.e. Public Policy Institute, Speaker's Bureau, etc.)
