Mathematics
Mission
The Mathematics Department assists our diverse student population in acquiring the mathematical skills, problem solving ability, and conceptual understanding necessary for accomplishing the students' educational goals and for making informed decisions throughout their lives. Using a variety of instructional methods, the department provides a supportive learning environment while encouraging students to meet high standards. Our curriculum meets students at their current mathematical level and allows them to progress towards their goals.
Programs of Study
A high school diploma, GED, or passing score on a
federally approved Ability To Benefit Test is required for admission
to all programs. Contact the Admissions Office
for more information.
Events
On May 5, Aline Elad and Michael Guiffre received the 2009 Mathematics Departmental Award for outstanding accomplishment in mathematics courses at North Shore Community College.
