Fire Protection & Safety Technology

Mission

Professional status begins with education. The Fire Protection and Safety program provides a systematic and deliberate educational program leading to a broad knowledge base which will be acceptable to the academic community as a professional program.

The program will assist persons involved in the fire protection field to acquire a sense of values that will give direction, meaning, and integrity to their chosen profession. Students will acquire basic abilities and skills that are transferable to their job and needed by professional fire service personnel in today's working world.

The program emphasizes creative interaction, focuses on developing a person's ability to think, to listen, to read, to write, to speak; and in all this the key word is critically.

Program Web Page

The Fire Protection Program now has it's own web page. It is suggested that you access this web page and save it to your favorites so you can access it fast in the future.

The web page gives you information about program requirements, schedules of course for the future, required textbooks, advisement and much more.

Each class has limits and availability is first come/first served. So, having advance notice of schedules can be very helpful.

As of September 2006, the Fire Protection Program has a total online degree option. Advanced notice is important if you are interested in taking one course, two courses or the full degree online.
