Cultural Arts
Mission
The Cultural Arts Department provides a program of study in a variety of disciplines designed to offer skills of thinking and acting that will allow students to compete in an increasingly complex world. This model emphasizes the study and practice of skills based in a variety of symbol systems in order to support competencies in other disciplines as well. We seek to assist in the provision of a broad based fundamental liberal arts education.
Programs of Study
A high school diploma, GED, or passing score on a
federally approved Ability To Benefit Test is required for admission
to all programs. Contact the Admissions Office
for more information.

Arts in the World
You are an artist! When you choose clothes, a car, CD's, or a poster for the bedroom, you make choices based on beauty and form - recognizing talents that reflect your own abilities. Even language is carefully chosen because you are a poet, metaphor-minded. The poster is your favorite "star," the clothes "way cool." And surrounding yourself with creativity is itself a creative statement.
In the Cultural Arts Department we recognize everyone's talents and offer a broad range of courses to help you discover, develop, and polish those talents. From music to art, from language to drama, we teach the most basic of life skills - how to be YOU.
You already live in a world of "cultural arts." What we can do is help you deepen that life. Review our course listings. See what matches your interests and what might add to courses you are already taking or to your personal life experiences. We'll be happy to explain any of our offerings! Get in touch!
