North Shore Tech Prep
Mission
What is Tech Prep?
The Secondary-Post-Secondary CVTE / Tech Prep Program is a federally funded initiative under the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act of the 2006 Five-Year Secondary Postsecondary CVTE Linkage Consortium. Under this act, grants have been made to consortia at post-secondary institutions for the development of career pathways to a two-year Associates degree, a two-year certificate or further post-secondary education.
About Our Program
North Shore Tech Prep establishes articulation agreements between high schools and post-secondary institutions, establishing career pathways that transition seamlessly from high school to college programs of study, creating opportunities for students to earn college credit while still in high school.
A variety of workshops and seminars, relating to industry trends and high-demand career opportunities, are planned by Tech Prep staff throughout the academic year to engage high school students in career-related activities and discussions that will help them to make well-informed decisions relating to their academic and long-term career and professional goals.
All articulation agreements will need to be renewed on a yearly basis. Each agreement is valid for up to three years after graduation from high school. New articulation agreements can be submitted throughout the academic year. Print out a new request cover sheet to be submitted with supporting paperwork for review by NSCC faculty.
All renewals will be submitted for review in January 2010. Print out a renewal request cover sheet indicating any curriculum changes, if any, and submit with necessary supporting paperwork for review by NSCC faculty.
