TRiO Student Support Services is funded by the U.S. Department of Education to assist a total of 350 low-income, first generation, &/or disabled college students on the Lynn & Danvers campuses. NSCC's TRiO program seeks caring & enthusiastic full-time students with leadership & community service capabilities who are motivated to be academically successful & would benefit from personalized support (academic counseling, learning community classes, tutoring, career planning, college transfer assistance, cultural atcivities, & more).

If you believe you meet these qualifications, please complete the TRiO Application & return it to TRiO (LW165 or DB104). As space is available, we will contact you to invite you to an information session, interview with a TRiO Counselor, and/or may request eligibility documentation.

COURSE OFFERINGS

TRiO Linked Learning, a component of the TRiO program, offers two levels of coordinated curriculum, tutoring, advising, study skills, & peer support. Although highly encouraged, students do not need to participate in Linked Learning courses to be part of TRiO at NSCC.

Three groups of courses are available in both Lynn & Danvers:

Fall Semester
College Writing 2, College Reading 2, & College Success Seminar

Fall & Spring Semester
Composition 1 & Speech

Spring Semester
Composition 2 & Psychology

What are "LINKED COURSES?"
In this learning community, students, faculty, and staff connect and share a common goal of successful learning. Faculty coordinate curriculum and the same group of students attend both classes. Students enjoy Linked Classes because they quickly gain the friendship and support of their classmates while sharing assignments. Experienced TRiO staff work closely with both the faculty and students throughout the semester to monitor course performance and develop strategies for academic and personal success.
